  • This year, we’re doing something extra special by qualifying our players to play in the USA’s biggest land-based poker tournament of the year! On Sunday, July 2nd at 3pm ET, we’ll host our single biggest satellite to date!!!! The World Series of Poker qualifier will guarantee that 50 players walk away with a package valued at $12,500!
  • The 2017 WSOPE took place from October 19-November 10 in at King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. There were 11 bracelet events, including the €111,111 High Roller for One Drop, the largest buy-in in WSOPE history. The €10,350 No Limit Hold'em Main Event attracted 529 entries and was won by Spanish qualifier Marti Roca de Torres.

The World Series of Poker Circuit is a series of poker tournaments held annually at a variety of casinos since 2005 as a build-up to the World Series of Poker (WSOP). All Championship events are competed in no limit Texas hold 'em; preliminary events may be different poker variants. In 2015, the WSOP International Circuit was launched, with rounds in Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean.

2017 Qualifying season is now underway!

Qualifiers are already underway for the World Series Of Poker 2017, leading the field this year are America's Cardroom (known as ACR Poker) on the Winning Poker Network. They have an unusual qualifying process which uses their 3-handed lottery sit and goes (called 'Jackpots') plus a 50 seat guaranteed mega-satellite, steps SNGs and even a cash game promo giving away seats. Surprisingly quiet from the other sites at the moment, nothing from Ignition, BetOnline or Intertops as yet. I will keep a daily eye on things and update this page as and when they do offer qualifiers.

This article looks at the different offers and highlights the best WSOP qualifiers for US players. Make sure you bookmark this page now, so you won't miss out when any of the big announcements come.

One more side note, I have a main kick-off page for US news and links to my review / comparison articles. To keep up to date with the latest, see the main US Poker Sites page here.

US World Series Qualifiers 2017 - America's Cardroom

The Winning Poker Network and in particular America’s Cardroom have really gone for it this year.

In fact, the 50 Main Event seats guaranteed satellite on July 2nd is the biggest single World Series qualifier for US players since Black Friday (which was more than 6 years ago now). That even alone gives away $675,000 worth of packages.

This is one of 4 different ways you can win a $12,500 Main Event package which includes $10 entry, $2k expenses and $500 accommodation.

Here are the promos:

#1 – Super Satellite!

This is an MTT which guarantees 50 prize packages, and has a buy-in of $540. It takes place on the 2nd July at 3pm ET. If you win a package, you’ll need to be in Vegas by the 8th July.

Sub-qualifiers are running already, with plenty of people winning their seat in this way. If enough people join, it is possible that even more than 50 packages will be won!

#2 – Jackpots (Lottery SNGs)

This is the name for the Lottery Sit N Go tournaments at America’s Cardroom. These are 5 handed, super-turbo and start with 500 chips. They are not as crazy-fast as the versions at some other sites, giving you a skill edge. In my experience, these are very recreational in their play, with plenty of all-in type scenarios.

The WSOP qualifier ones are separated from the cash prize versions. These are $3 and $30 buy-in. When you start, prizes flicker through the screen – stopping on anything from $6 to $37,000. If you hit that top prize, all 3 participants win a WSOP Main Event prize package.

#3 – Steps Sit N Goes

There are 7 steps in total, with the last couple of spots in each game winning entry to the next level up. The smallest buy-in is XX, with the top step a huge $2400+$40 buy-in. That ‘Step 7’ awards two main event packages, and $200 to the player in 3rd place.

I have played some of the lower buy-in qualifiers, and these are crazy loose games… not sure if a single opponent understood prize pool equity math! A big opportunity with these games.

#4 – Buck Hunt (Cash Game WSOP Promo)

This is an innovative promotion, which is aimed at cash game players. There are random cash prizes, which appear when chips appear on the tables with 5c / 10c blinds and above. If you are paying attention, you can click on these chips. A prize will be revealed. This can be anything from 10c up to a $12,500 WSOP package.

As you climb the buy-in levels, your chances of getting a Main Event package will increase.

Wrapping Up – America’s Cardroom Has Owned it This Year!

Not just owned it, ACR has left the opposition in the dust. Only 888 have anything close (for context, they are the sponsors!).

If you are new to this site, head on over and check out the soft games. If you have already played there, then head on over and grab the current WSOP reload bonus.

Add to this the regular $1m guaranteed tournaments, 'Sit N Crush' progressive leaderbard and generous welcome offer - and this might just have pipped the older sites to the post to become my pick for 2016 World Series Qualifiers.

US WSOP Qualifiers 2016 - BetOnline.ag

Since the last qualifiers season, this site has gained lot of momentum - and is now the 2nd largest of the US friendly poker sites (as part of the Chico Network). Last year BetOnline gave away a lot of packages through a random jackpot type game. They have yet to announce for '16. My thinking is that they are now big enough for 'proper' qualifiers in tournament format - then again, those jackpot games were very popular (and a lot of fun!). Once again, I will keep an eye out and update this article (along with my main WSOP qualifiers 2017 article) when they make the announcement.

US World Series Of Poker Qualifiers – Ignition Poker

I was expecting a little more from Ignition, who have the single biggest US player pool - ah well, maybe next year!

2017

US World Series Qualifiers – Intertops

Nothing yet from Intertops, though they do have a track record of sending players to live poker tournaments around the world via their online satellites. Again, I'm keeping an eye on their site.

US WSOP 2017 – Planet Mark’s Pick

America's Cardroom are clearly offering the best qualifiers at the moment - offering full $12.5k packages for a $3 buy-in via their lottery Sit N Goes - check them out now at www.americascardroom.eu

A ‘Las Vegas Poker Party’ Could be Yours from Just 1c at Party Poker

The blurb for what I am calling the 2017 WSOP qualifiers at Party Poker made me smile this time around.

Main

There is nothing too different about the sequence of satellite tournaments, and qualifiers with guaranteed packages every Sunday. What is notable is just how hard Party Poker go about NOT mentioning that their prizes are for the World Series of Poker.

Instead you can win a vacation / party package, which involves $12,000 (paid into your Party account) to enter a poker tournament which just happens to be taking place shortly after you land in Las Vegas on the 7th of July 2017. As an extra boost, the first 10 qualifiers also get a trip over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter. Having done that trip myself I will say it is a proper bucket-list item. There is also a pool party and golf day scheduled.

With $12,000 in cash and no way to make sure you turn up, I do wonder how many winners of these packages will go to Vegas. That is for you to decide. The opportunity is certainly there. You can check the details over at www.partypoker.com (use my bonus code SNGPLANET for your free $20 or 100% matched welcome bonus!)

Vegas Poker Party Qualifier Schedule

This is a simple enough qualifier schedule.

You start with a $22 buy-in ‘Quarter Final’. These happen every day at 16:00 and 02:00 BST (British Summer Time). These games will award prizes of seats in the Semi-Final, which also run daily. These games have a buy-in of $109 if you want to go direct. They run an hour later than the lower buy-in events at 17:00 and 03:00.

You will take your finishing chips through to the final – which adds some interest to the games. If you qualify more than once for the final, then your biggest stack is used (they are not combined).

The finals have a $1050 buy-in, and award 10x $12,000 prize packages every week. These run every Sunday at 21:00 BST. Starting stacks for these games are 100,000 chips!

Getting to Vegas / Activities

It is up to you when you fly and what tournaments you enter while there. As I mentioned above, you are handed $12k in cash which is paid to your player account. It is then entirely up to you what to do with it. Party do state that they would love you to wear one of their patches if you *ahem* happen to play in the main event… I’m not too sure how many people would be willing to advertise for free. If you would, then let me know, and I’ll have some SNG Planet patches made!

The dates that Party Poker list are Friday the 7th July, through to Friday the 14th July.

On the 7th there is a party in a Vegas nightclub.

Just by chance, the WSOP Main Event starts on the 8th July with day 1A.

There is a pool party on the 9th, golf day on the 11th (not sure if this is at Topgolf or some proper course) and the Grand Canyon trip is on the 13th.

Day 4 of the Main Event is on the 14th. If you made it that far, I am sure that any expense for rearranging your flight will seem like small change.

One more thing, the Aria is the official Party hotel. Since you are using your own cash for this, you are free to choose whichever hotel you wish for your stay. If you are not familiar, Aria is a newer (by Strip standards) hotel with a mid-range price tag. The World Series takes place at the Rio, though this is located a little way away from the Strip itself.

So, head on over to Party Poker (where the games remain as soft as ever), claim your welcome bonus with Party Poker bonus code SNGPLANET, and hopefully we will meet in Vegas!

Other Notable Live Tournament Qualifiers at Party Poker

2017 Wsop Final Table

Party Poker (or rather their holding company Bwin.Party) own the World Poker Tour brand, and run a lot of excellent live events around the world.

Keeping with the Las Vegas theme, you can enjoy the WTP500, which takes place in parallel with the WSOP starting June the 26th. This is held at the Aria resort and casino and has a $565 buy-in. The combo of smaller buy in, WSOP running and big prize pool can make this an excellent event. If you read this page in time, there is also a WTP500 event in LA starting May 21st.

You’ll find the PowerFest online events at Party Poker also have plenty of satellites – and some huge prize pools too. The next event, which runs May 7th to 21st, has a massive $20 million in guaranteed prizes.

Most pros do not look far beyond PokerStars these days. One look at the Party Poker tables will show you how different the games are there.
